6 year old dog refuses to stop peeing in crate?
we got Tidus from the animal shelter about a year ago. He is almost six years old and is the sweetest dog in the world. We started crate training him the day after we got him. He does not poop in the crate, but he pees in it every night. we walk him before we put him in there an usually he is not in it for more than 5 hours. even at night when we sleep he is still not in there for more than 5 hours. we have tried putting pillows, blankets and towels in there for him to snuggle with he either pees on them or lifts them up pees underneath them and lays back down on top of them. we have tried not giving him water right before bed, he doesnt play with toys, we have tried leaving the radio on so there is background noise. we have down graded crates 5 times we tried putting newspaper and piddle pads in there with him and he just tears them apart and pees on them. i dont know what to do ive gotten to the point where i almost want to get rid of him. please help i just want this to stop.
If he was five when you got him you will have a hard tome breaking this behavour. Love him anyway and clean it up in the morning.
