No accent?
I loveeeee accents, and i so wish i had one.
the mid west (kansas, nebraska, colorado, etc.) area has NONE.
hard to believe but its true. apparently we speak like “model” english. people actually come to the midwest for voice training because of it.
even my cousin from oklahoma has one..so it varies even in such a small region. are there any other places on earth that dont have them?
and why do you think that our area doesnt have them??

Every language has what linguists call dialectal variation. You may have the “least marked” accent in American English, although I was pretty sure the western coast carried this title (California). Spanish has even more dialectal variation than English, and the Colombian Spanish dialect is considered the one with the least marked accent.
It is actually a very coveted aspect of language (an unmarked accent) for news anchormen / women…have you ever noticed that those people on CNN or other national networks don’t have, say a southern accent for example. Some of those people have actually had to take courses on training their voice to hide their accents!
